On Monday it was Valentine's Day not my favorite holiday. I thought the holiday might not be as big here oh no it is I had to see everyone carrying flowers and making out with each other..sigh i may never get use to the PDA here. So I went to my politics class the only one I had that day it went by pretty quickly. I was craving chocolate like crazy so I went on an adventure to find some my roommate. Of course since it was Valentine's Day the chocolate stores was crazy packed. Ended up going to Tesco. We decided to have an apartment dinner again. I thought having fondue for dessert would be fun but I couldn't find chocolate chips to save my life. So I bought a tube of ice cream. It's was almost like soft serve it was so soft but it was really yummy though. We had spaghetti for dinner. I am getting pretty tired of pasta I must say.

After a long day of class, which I have both classes with my roommate Kelsey, we had discussed earlier that we really wanted to go to Poland. So we tried to look into train tickets, but were having some difficulty so we asked our assistant director Richard for help. Richard is awesome btw so helpful! I am grateful we have such nice and helpful directors. Anyway he gave us directions to the train stop so we hopped on the Metro and rode to the train station. We got the station and we wondered around like chickens with their heads chopped off for the place to buy tickets; Richard had said there was an English section. So we finally walk up to the information desk and they send us to the line to buy tickets. Apparently they all speak English! So we ask about tickets and prices. It was a little less than $100 for a round trip ticket which is awesome! So we booked our ticket and we are going to Poland this weekend!! When we got home we did some researching and finally found a hostel we liked it had great reviews, we get free breakfast and dinner, linens and towels are provides and free lockers. Had everything we were looking for and it was like $36 bucks each for two nights! So all together this trip will be less than $200 which is awesome. We are planning on viewing Auschwitz on Saturday morning. More to come when I go.
On Wednesday, I had my Gender Studies Class. The class is very interesting there is a lot of reading for the class. The class is quite larger I am going to have to start leaving early to make sure I have a seat in the class. We learned about some famous feminists. We also got to pick topics for our paper and presentation. I am doing Gender Issues in the Virtual World (ie pornography and the use women as sexual icons). I was considering doing sex trafficking, but I heard others talking about wanting to do so I picked something else.
I have my politics class on Thursday at 9am. So first my alarm clock doesn't go off, so I look at the time it's 8:45 I frantically get dressed and book it out the door. It takes a good 30 minutes to get to school. I head down the stairs and I can't open the gate. I sat there for literally 10 minutes trying to unlock it no use. I would turn the key all the way, but the bolt would relock it's self so I couldn't get out. I was like I am just having a horrible day. So I get my roommate and she tries to unlock it no use. We were literally locked it. So, I try to call Karel our landlord; no use he doesn't pick up, so I leave him a voicemail even though he probably wouldn't understand it since he knows very little English. So I call my director Jan and I tell him the problem. He was able to get a hold of Karel. Karel showed up like an hour later and fixed the gate I guess the bolt was broken which was preventing us from getting out. By the time it was fixed my class was over. I guess I just really wasn't meant to go to class that day.
Well I got to pack I am leaving tonight for Krakow and will be back on Sunday!
